Analyze JSON
Analyze JSON structure and get detailed statistics about your data
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Understanding the Stats
- Total Keys: Number of all property names in objects
- Max Depth: Maximum nesting level of objects/arrays
- Value Types: Count of each data type (string, number, boolean, null, object, array)
- Array Lengths: Individual lengths of all arrays found in the JSON
- Size: Total size of the JSON input in bytes and kilobytes

Paste a valid JSON object, array, or primitive and choose Analyze JSON. The report counts object keys, values by type, nested objects and arrays, maximum nesting depth, total array items, and the length of each array. For nested objects, key counts include properties at every level.
Depth starts at 0 for the top-level value and increases for each child value. For example, in {"users":[{"name":"Ada"}]}, the top-level object is at depth 0, the array at depth 1, and the user object at depth 2. The size figure measures the bytes in the text you entered, including whitespace and indentation; it is not the compact JSON size.
Malformed JSON produces a parsing error instead of a report. Copy the statistics or download them as json-analysis.txt. Analysis happens in the browser, and the input is not uploaded. Use a formatter when you need to edit or reformat the JSON itself.
