How to choose
PNG is useful for sharp graphics and transparency, JPG is widely supported for photographs, and WebP often produces smaller web assets. Pick the format based on the destination, not only the smallest result.
Converting an image changes its container and encoding. It cannot restore detail that the source already lost, so keep the source file and inspect the converted result before publishing it.
